Proclamation No. 333 declaring Thursday, 26 October 2017, as a Special (Non-Working) Day in the Province of Cebu, including the Cities of Cebu, Mandaue, and Lapu-Lapu.

Archbishop Ricardo Cardinal Vidal, who became Archbishop of Cebu on 24 August 1982, passed away on 18 October 2017.

Thursday, 26 October 2017, is the date of interment of Archbishop Vidal.

The Senate of the Philippines, through Senate Resolution No. 306 s 2010, has recognized the contribution of Archbishop Vidal to the society and the people of Cebu, particularly by "providing spiritual leadership and inspiration, helping the community avert or survive several crises and conflicts, often acting as peacekeeper and giving the voice of moderation amid clashing views and interests in local and national issues."

Archbishop Vidal has enjoyed great affection by the people in the Roman Catholic Church and deep respect by the people of the other Christian denominations and Islamic faith.

Special (Non-Working) Day in NCR, Bulacan and Pampanga on November 13-15, 2017 (Proclamation No. 332, S. 2017)

Proclamation No. 332 declaring 13-15 November 2017, as a Special (Non-Working) Day in the National Capital Region (NCR), Province of Bulacan and Province of Pampanga.

The Philippines will host the 31st Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit and Related Summits on 13-15 November 2017.

Various activities directly connected with the 31st ASEAN Summit and Related Summits, to be attended by ASEAN Leaders and ASEAN Dialogue Partners, will be held in the NCR and Clark Field, Pampanga.

The ASEAN 2017 National Organizing Council has recommended that 13-15 November 2017 be declared as a special (non-working) days in the NCR and the Provinces of Bulacan and Pampanga, as these areas will be directly affected by the said activities.

The First Battle Cry of Revolution against Spain in the Province of Iloilo and the Island of Panay, known as the "Cry of Lincud," happened on 28 October 1898 in Barrio Lincud, Dingle, Iloilo.

In order for the people of the Municipality of Dingle, Iloilo to celebrate and participate in the event, the Office of the Sangguniang Bayan of Dingle has requested that Saturday, 28 October 2017 be declared as a special non-working day.

The Sangguniang Panlungsod of Mati, Davao Oriental requested that Friday, 27 October 2017, be declared as a special non-working day in the City of Mati in celebration of the 17th Sambuokan Festival.
